Professional Body Sugaring

Body sugaring is an art and an ancient  method of hair removal using a 100% natural paste that contains only sugar, lemon and water.  The sugar paste is applied by hand against your hair growth.  The hair is removed in a flicking motion that removes the hair and the entire root in the direction of hair growth, while gently exfoliating the skin.   Sugaring dramatically reduces the occurrence of hair breakage, painful ingrown hairs, and irritation and enables the removal or shorter, finer hair.

Skin Spa is one of the few spas in Utah to offer body sugaring and we proudly use Sugar of the Nile.  Sugar of the Nile is a premium sugar paste that results in permanent hair refinement when services are performed regularly.  There are many benefits of Sugar of the Nile body sugar.  These include:

  • Sugar  of the Nile is 100% natural.  It is free of chemical additives, resins, preservatives, and parabens.
  • Sugar of the Nile never adheres to live cells, but only to dead skin cells and hair, resulting on a more comfortable hair removal service with less skin trauma.
  • Sugar of the Nile is applied at body temperature, eliminating the risk of burning and discomfort.
  • Sugar of the Nile is water soluble - so you'll never leave feeling "sticky".
  • Sugar of the Nile adheres to hair that is only 1/8" long.  There is no need to grow the hair prior to your service.
  • Sugar of the Nile removes the entire hair and the root.  Breakage is eliminated or significantly reduced and hair grows back finer and thinner.
  • Sugar of the Nile naturally exfoliates the skin, removing dead cells and leaving the skin silky smooth.
  • Sugar of the Nile is safe for clients who have contraindications for waxing.  Clients with diabetes, eczema, varicose veins and other skin concerns may be sugared.
  • Sugar of the Nile is more sanitary that waxing.  Bacteria cannot breed in high concentrations of sugar, and there is never "double dipping"

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does my hair need to be?
For best results your hair should be 1/8-1/4  inch long.

I am prone to ingrown hairs.  What can I do to minimize this?

Exfoliate and moisturize!   Use a natural bristle body brush, exfoliating cloth or glove, or body scrub two to three times per week.   This will prevent dead skin cells from trapping new hair growth under your skin. Use a good moisturizer every time you shower or bathe.  If you have ingrowns that because painful or pustulous, you may add antibacterial products to disinfect.  We offer In-Be-Gone that can be used for home care.

Is sugaring as painful as waxing?
Most of our clients find that body sugaring is more comfortable than waxing.

How long should I wait between appointments?
Timing may vary depending on your hair growth cycle and how long you’ve been sugaring. Most clients sugar every 4-6 weeks.

My skin was bumpy and itchy after my appointment. Should I be concerned?
Since we are removing the hair and the root, slight irritation is completely normal and should subside within 24 hours. If you experience hives you may take an antihistamine. A cold compress may also be applied to the irritated areas.

How do I care for my skin after sugaring?
Avoid sweating, swimming, hot tubs, bathing, and sun exposure for 24 hours.  After intimate sugaring, sexual activity should be avoided for 24 hours. Exfoliate every 2-3 days.  Moisturize daily after showering or bathing.

What Our Clients Are Saying

"It's hard to even put into words the experience I recently had with Kimberlee.  Two years ago, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and had bilateral mastectomy.  By her amazing talent and work, I can feel whole again.  She tattooed 3D areola and nipples on me and she did a beautiful job.  She is kind, compassionate, and caring.  She several times cried with me and I know she felt just as much joy as I did when she was done.  I felt very calm in her office and I was able to relax and feel peace.  I would highly recommend her to anyone."
